G Dany Sabourin

Dany Sabourin is your perfect example of a “career back-up”. He’s never been able to play beyond his expectations and beyond his own play to become a #1 goalie for a team, unless that teams starting goalie gets hurt. Not only does he not have the talent to become the #1 goalie in Pittsburgh, he’s backing up Marc-Andre Fleury who is the franchise goalie for the Penguins. Now Sabourin does have some assets for being a #2 goalie. His size definitely helps him out when he gets on his knees to stop a shot. Add his confidence that is very important for a goalie and you’ve got a decent back-up goalie.
